| I was raised in central Wisconsin and later went to Yale University, where I graduated with a double major in art and film. I spent a few months back in Wisconsin substitute teaching, watching a lot of television, drinking, and playing with cats. |

| Then I moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan to help take care of my grandparents (they didn't, however, know why I moved to Michigan). |

I've been taking care of my grandparents for about two years so far. |
I worked on some other comic projects, but it soon became clear that the best stories I had to tell were based on my experiences with my grandmother and grandfather. |
